Singer Mika Singh arrested for assaulting doctor during a live event - Yahoo Movies India

NEW DELHI: Singer Mika Singh was on Thursday arrested for assaulting a doctor during a live concert in South-West Delhi in April. The controversial singer has been taken to the Inderpuri Police Station in Delhi.
Mika Singh was since then granted bail by the court.
Earlier, in April this year Mika Singh was booked for slapping a doctor.
According to the police, Mika was booked for causing hurt and wrongfully restraining ophthalmologist Shrikant at the Pusa institute ground in Inderpuri, said a Hindustan Times report.
Posted at Ambedkar Hospital in Mangolpuri, Dr. Shrikant was attending a performance organised by the Delhi Ophthalmological Society.
“In his complaint, Dr. Shrikant has said he was trying to communicate with a woman, who was participating in a gimmick that required segregation of male and female members of the audience. It was then that Mika summoned the doctor,” said a senior police officer.
“When Dr. Shrikant went on stage at Mika’s insistence, he was first asked why he disagreed with the singer’s directions. He was then slapped and escorted away from the stage by two of Mika’s bouncers,” the officer added.
The police said they were approached by the complainant soon after the incident. Meanwhile, the Delhi Police was forced to convert the complaint into a criminal case after a video pertaining to the incident emerged on the Internet.
Though senior officials remained incommunicado, a police source said Mika and his bouncers had been booked under Sections 341/34 (wrongful restraint and common intention) in addition to Section 323 (causing hurt).
Singer Mika Singh hurled choicest abuses in Hindi and then in a fit of rage slapped an eye surgeon. The shocking incident caught live on camera has gone viral. The 27-year-old eye surgeon Shrikanth said that the police should not reel under pressure and muster courage to arrest Mika who hurled choicest abuses and then slapped him in front of a packed audience.
In a telephonic conversation with India Samvad, Dr Srikanth, a doctor at Ambedkar hospital in New Delhi who is a resident of Hyderabad said, that he was attending a concert organised by Delhi Opthalmological Society at Pusa ground in the capital. A few of his colleagues started dancing around 10:30 p.m. just below the stage while Mika was performing. “All of a sudden Mika started shouting at me, and instructed me to move away from the stage. I tried to convince him that I was not obstructing the audience’s view and hence should not be asked to move away. I have no idea what irked him. Mika then instructed his bouncers to pick me up onto the stage,” Dr Srikanth said.
The moment Dr Srikanth was dragged onto the stage by the bouncers, Mika became furious. “Without any provocation from my side he became angry. I was very polite. I tried to calm him down. I was talking in Hindi and asked him, “Aap kyun aise bol rahe hain? Please tameez se baat karien.”However, he didn’t stop abusing me and continued.  Before I could react he slapped me,” said the eye surgeon.
Following this all the doctors present at the venue sided with Dr Srikanth and requested Mika to apologise. However, the singer left the venue. Subsequently Dr Srikanth and his colleagues went to the Inderpuri Police Station and lodged an FIR against Mika and the bouncers at the concert.
Dr Srikanth has sustained injuries in his left ear and was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital for treatment. The report of the doctors suggests that the victim has suffered internal injury inside his left ear due to the assault.
“Now I want the police to initiate action against Mika. I have been informed that Mika has left Delhi and is presently in Mumbai. The police should not reel under any pressure and ensure strict action against the celebrity,” added the eye surgeon, reported the Hindustan Times.
